Welcome Back Everyone,

It’s good to see everyone back in class. We offer a warm welcome to all our new students.

UNIFORMS

All students are expected to attend class in the DANZA uniform from the start of Term two. Please see the General Information Uniform Options section of this web site for more information.

CONCERT

We are planning an end of year performance. It will be held at the Allambie Heights Community Centre on Sunday 24th October. Rehearsals will take place at the concert hall on both the 23rd & 24th October so please keep both days free and put both dates in your diary!!!

The Photo Shoot will take place for all students at the Naremburn Studio on Saturday 18th September.

As usual, we would love to hear from any Mums, Dads, students & friends who are interested in lending a hand with sewing, prop manufacture, etc. Please email Michelle at address below to register your name and your artistic talent i.e. sewer, painter, prop maker etc.

This year when paying your term 2 fees a non refundable Costume Hire deposit of $10.00 per class will be required. This deposit will be deducted from your costume hire fee in Term 4. All who wish to take part in the concert will be required to pay this deposit to secure your place in the annual event.

FEES

Term Two Fees are payable from today. For information regarding fees please see the Fees section of our website. If you require an invoice please email your request to DANZA.pa@gmail.com. All who pay by Friday 30th April will receive the early bird discount of $10.00. You are more than welcome to pay fees directly into Danza’s account, post payments in the holidays, or send fees in an envelope with your child on the first day of term. If there are any problems with paying the fees please have a quiet chat to me and we can arrange a payment plan for you.

PERFORMANCE CLASS

This year DANZA & Performing Arts has 3 Performance classes enabling students from as young as 7yrs to display their talents at numerous performances throughout the year. These classes will be representing DANZA at 3 local Eisteddfods this year, performing a variety of styles including Jazz Musical Comedy and Tap. We have our first performance on Saturday 1st May in the Northern Beaches Eisteddfod. I am sure everyone at DANZA wishes the girls the best of luck!!!

Term 2 Newsletter 2010

Hi Everyone,

What a busy term we have had!!!.  Concert dances are well underway and looking good. Our performance groups, Duo and Soloist have competed in both the Northern Beaches Eisteddfod as well as the Extreme Challenge all achieving a great result. I would like to congratulate both the Junior Group as well as the Tap Duo for achieving a Highly Commended at the Extreme Challenge.  Well done girls keep up the hard work!!!

TERM DATES

Just a reminder of DANZA’s term dates.  We do occasionally start the weekend prior to school and sometimes have classes on the first Saturday of school holidays depending on the term layout.

Term 2 finishes            Friday 2 July

Term 3 starts    Saturday 17 July & finishes Friday 24 September

Term 4 starts    Saturday 9 October & finishes Tuesday 7 December

FEES

DANZA opened its doors in January 2005 and for the past 5 ½ years we have been fortunate to have been able to keep our prices the same for the entire time.  Unfortunately due to increasing costs this has had to change.

From Term 3 2010 DANZA’s prices will increase.  Please see the fees section of this website for DANZA’s new pricing structure.

Term Three fees are payable from today.  If you require an invoice please email your request to DANZA.pa@gmail.com.

All who pay prior to the end of week two (30 July) will receive the early bird discount of $10.00.  Payments can be made by any of the following options:

  • Posting during the vacation to 6 Townsend Avenue Frenchs Forest 2086 (Cheques Only)
  • Sending with your child to class either cash or cheque in an envelope clearly marked with the amount enclosed, the date, and the student’s name
  • Paying directly into our bank account.

If you have not yet paid the $10.00 per class Costume Hire Deposit which guarantees your child’s place in the annual concert please do so with your term fees.  Costumes will only be made for those who have paid the deposit.  If there are any problems with paying the fees or costume hire deposit please have a quiet chat to me and we can arrange a payment plan for you.

UNIFORMS

Congratulations to all the students who have been wearing the DANZA uniform, you all look very professional.  It would be great to see all our students wearing their DANZA uniforms in term 3!  For more information regarding uniforms please see the General Information section of the website under Uniform Options.

CONCERT

Our annual concert will be held at the Allambie Heights Community Centre on Sunday 24th October 2010.

Please put this date in your dairy!!!

We will hold all dress rehearsals during your child’s class time during week 9 of term 3 (Saturday 11 to Friday 17 September).  I urge all students to attend this rehearsal as it gives them a chance to dance in their costume and enables us to add any final touches and adjustments to costumes.

CONCERT REHEARSALS

Additional Rehearsals will take place.  Please see the Rehearsal Schedule for further information.

PHOTO SHOOT

The “Photo Shoot” for all students will take place at the Naremburn studio on Saturday 18th September 2010.  Anyone who has prior activities on this date please contact me immediately so we can reschedule the timetable accordingly.

COSTUMES

HELP!!!!!!

This year’s concert is much earlier than usual and so far we have had no response to assist in the costumes, set and props creation.  To keep our hire costs to a minimum we need help.

FUND RAISING

I would like to hold a raffle at this year’s concert and am looking for any one who can assist in organizing it.  I already have a small amount of prizes and would greatly appreciate any one who would like to donate prizes or assist in the organization.

I would just like to thank everyone once again for your support.  Have a nice break and I am looking forward to seeing you all again at the commencement of Term 3.
